Hello! I wanted to write and tell you THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I am still in amazement that Georgia
is home safe and sound. The last two weeks have been such journey, and I cannot imagine doing it without your help! I feel
like I focused on nothing else except for finding her!!! I slept so soundly last night, and it was nice. If it were not for
you, our big beautiful baby would not be home right now!
Georgia is sleeping in spurts as you said that she would, and
eats the small amounts of food we are giving her very quickly. She spent last night at the vet which I hated to leave her,
but our vet said it was the best thing for her. She actually lost 10 lbs, and the ticks were absolutely countless. Some of
them were as big as dimes. I could just tell that she was miserable. Now, she is lying on my husband’s lap next to the
other two hounds, with not a single live tick on her. I can see that she is resting so much more comfortably and is happy.
She jumps at small things and has forgotten to potty outside, but I think these will get better as the weeks go on. I am looking
forward to the house getting back to normal, her tail knocking everything over, the trail of water all over the kitchen, the
whining and howling when I get home, and the lovely slobber on my furniture. Oh how I have missed it!!!
We appreciate
your help more than you will ever know, you are truly amazing! If it weren’t for your calming presence over the phone,
your patience (especially with my lack of sense of direction), your honesty, expertise, encouragement, and easy to understand,
exact directions- we never could have survived! I really felt as if everytime I talked to you that you wanted to bring Georgia
home just as bad as we did. I always felt as if you had a true desire to figure out where she was and what she was doing,
and you were always very focused and reassuring. Looking at how busy you are, I do not know how you keep everything straight.
Thank you for taking the initiative to do the signs, I think I was at my lowest those couple of days and it helped
my momentum. It is a hard feeling to describe that I had in my gut the entire time she was gone. I wanted to fix things and
bring her home, but I did not know where to start or how to keep going sometimes. Sitting in the woods for two days that weekend
with two dogs, a toddler, and tuna spray- with no dog found, was very disappointing to say the least!! Then to find another
bloodhound that matched her description…..was not fun. Everytime I was at my lowest, you were there to help me regroup
and refocus. Not to mention living 2 hours away and having to leave her. The two weeks were extremely long and exhausting!
Everything
we did is all worth it now that we have her back. I would do it all over again if I had to. In the end, the knowledge that
we learned from you is what brought her back. Dogs travel at night, and in the early am. My mother-in-law knew to go early
(6am) in the morning to look for her, take food, and to sit and wait for Georgia to come to her. We had thoroughly prepared
her for this moment, thanks to you! All of the signs and sightings, are what kept us going. I am writing about our story now,
I want to get it down on paper while the memories are fresh.
I will get it to you soon. I never imagined that I would
be writing this so soon, I am so glad she is a found story!!!
I don’t know how you do all that you do everyday,
but thank you for sharing your time, knowledge, expertise, and caring heart with us.
God Bless you and your dogs,
Laura
